This is the sixth book in the Left Behind series. It is also the first one in the series I did not finish in one sitting. It did not flow as well as the others, so as to lend itself to a complete reading in one evening. The book also spends a lot of time re-telling what we read in previous books. I felt this time like I read half a novel.

The book starts in the thirty-eighth month into the tribulation. But most of the characters seem a little too self serving in this book. Allowing their own desires to guide their actions. Whether that desire be derived from rage, revenge, self pity, or even guilt. Rayford spends most of his time focusing on Hattie or his desire to kill the Anti-Christ. Though I do like the description of the handgun that Rayford procures. And when the time comes for the assassination, there are a few characters to chose from.

The book ends in an old time cliff hanger where you are left guessing who it is that assassinated the Anti-Christ. Stay tuned for the next volume. I have read this far, so I will finish the series. Though most people my find this book suspensful, I did not.

Caution - the kids will go hungry and the housework will go undone! I found myself hooked from the first book to the last. So much so that I couldn't put the books down and read the entire series in less than six weeks. Would make me want to pick up a Bible if it wasn't already my favourite book.

enjoyable as a novel

I was introduced to this series by a christian friend, and loved it. I chose to read it as a story, and ignore the preaching, but I was moved by the books, and I found myself questioning my beliefs. It was a very enjoyable read, that I won't forget in a hurry.

So whos the lucky person to assasinate him?

Tim La Haye and Jerry jenkins yet again write a all exciting, action packed, emotional book. From the chapters back at the safe house, to the gripping finale, that leaves the reader in suspence as to who killed the anti-christ, I don't know (haven't got the next yet) but I don't think it is as obvious as it is. I bought the assassins on thursday from college, finished it by the following Sunday afternoon, hard to put down, yet again.

An excellent nail-biting story line!

Once again the authors have done an excellent job. We find ourselve living in days which are so much like the days of Noah of the Old Testament. It was then that God decided to destroy the world with a flood, what a terrible day of judgment that was. The Left Behind series really brings home to all who read them of the danger the population of the world is in today. Assassins only reinforces this thought. Very very soon people will be left behind after Christ comes to air to receive unto Himself his Church. This series spells out the teaching in the Book of Revelation, linked to many other books in the Bible, namely you need to be ready. You can't afford to take the chance of being saved during the Great Tribulation period. It is best to be prepared now. God bless the Left Behind team in the work they have set out to do.
