Summaries and Customer Reviews are supplied by Amazon.com Captivating! | Customer Rating: | | We bought this for our three-week old when he was two weeks old and he can't get enough of it! He will quite happily lie and stare at the bold, bright images for ages. | Absolutely brilliant! | Customer Rating: | | My newborn baby loves this little fold out book and I get great pleasure from seeing her happy with it. I wish I had bought a few of these as I use this one inside her pram during the day (I peg it around the inside of her pram) and also move it to place it along the wall at the side of her changing area. She is transfixed by the mirror page and stares at it for ages quietly while I'm changing her. She is also fascinated by the other pages too but nothing like the little mirror. I line the fishy mirror up to exactly where her face is (in the pram or on the changing unit) so she can see in it. Worth every penny in exchange for those lovely quiet moments for me and the amusement for her! | Highly over rated | Customer Rating: | I read the other reviews with interest. My son is currently eight weeks old and is one of the more alert babies (translation rarely sleeps, cries a lot and needs a lot of stimulation). I had hoped after reading the other reviews that this cot book would give him some stimulation. However it is described as a cot book, I think a better description is a fabric book. I have seen many pictures of this book unfolded and appearing to be attached to the side of the cot. There is nothing to attach it to the side of the cot, you can just sort of lean it there, so if you baby flails about they will knock it over. I think it would be better with some attachments for the side of the cot otherwise it is just a fabric book that folds out.
This may be ideal for content babies to be stimulated by, but as a warning to parents with alert babies (you know who you are, you are the ones that are currently desparately searching Amazon to find something that will entertain your baby whilst you get five minutes snatched sleep) then I wouldn't bother. | Great purchase | Customer Rating: | | I bought this book for my 8 week old premature baby and it's the only thing so far that really captures her attention. We put it around her on her changing table or when she is having a bit of a kick in her cot and she is mesmerised by it - particularly the picture of the house for some reason! It does seem to calm her down if she is getting a bit fractious. Definitely a worthwhile purchase! | Excellent stimulation for tiny babies | Customer Rating: | | I bought this cot book while pregnant, and have been using it to entertain my twin boys who were born premature. This cot book has been used in their incubators in NICU, and they absolutely love it. They stare at each image with wide eyes, and reach out to touch it. Sometimes it gets a bit much for them since they are still tiny, so we only use it for short periods of time. However, it is clearly excellent stimulation and I am sure that the boys will continue to be entertained as they grow a bit bigger. |
