very good for beginners

It will help you build your wardrobe by telling you what pieces of clothes you need and how to combine them to look the best for your body type. An excellent work, the two authors have put much effort in putting together this book. Not for you if you are acquainted with matching clothes, but it has helped me a lot! |
Mostly good with a few un-Lucky choices
| Customer Rating:  | The beauty of this book is that, for those who have no idea at which end to start pruning or extending their wardrobe, it gives you practical numbers on things you should have. I'm one of those people who end up buying five good t-shirts and nothing neat enough to wear at work, so this helps a lot.
However, some of the clothes combination suggestions are a bit odd. A red-and-white stripey t-shirt with a black lace skirt? A Louis Vuitton bag to "upgrade" a puffy winter coat? I may be just a jeans and a t-shirt kind of girl, but I even I wouldn't dream up such outfits.
Despite these eyebrow-raising examples, the book is very useful and indeed, timeless. And I for one liked the fact that the clothes were presented as clothes without being modelled by a person; it makes it a lot easier to visualise suitable styles for oneself. |
The best style book I have ever owned
| Customer Rating: | | I was having one of thise "I have nothing to wear" days when I bought this book. The ideas were easy to follow, the pictures were great and it inspired me to sort my wardrobe. With the addition of only 1 suit and 3 pairs of shoes I was able to recreate all the combinations shown and to get maximum mileage out of my clothes for the entire year with the winter/summer advice in each chapter. A fabulous book - like having your best friend with you to give you the confidence to try thing you otherwise might not. If you only buy one style book, it should be this one. |
Gorgeous Book!
| Customer Rating: | | I really love this book, it's in a great format with loads of good information and the fact that it isn't chock full of models helps too.. Lots of drawings of clothes makes it feels as if this book will last, it won't be totally dated in a year. Gives you help on what to wear with what, necessary items of clothing to buy, tips on combinations you mightn't have thought of and so on. Covers everything, if you ask me! I will definitely be referring to this when I'm redoing my sad wardrobe. :) |
