This book has everything a boy needs to know about the changes in his body. It even has diagrams that are clearly labeled and leave you in no doubt as to what to expect. I particularly liked the chapter on growing up for girls. So often this side is neglected for the oposite sex and it removes the mysteries and taboos about women that young men often need to know.
My only worry would be that I may have to wait until my son is at least 12 before given him the book. It is advertised as being suitable from 10 years upwards however I feel the content is a bit to graphic and detailed for the younger boy. I will certainly be supplying my son with this book when he is a little older as it is the type of book he can look at whenever he has a question or worry. The introductions for parents is also very useful, as it allows both adult and child to discuss each subject in a mature fashion without being condesending to either of them.Definately one to have on hand.

All Moms should read this book!

I had no problem teaching my girls about the birds and the bees. But when it came time to talk to my son about erections, wet-dreams, etc. I was lost. I read this book first to learn all the stuff I didn't know about boys development and then shared it with my son when he was ready. Gives you a good basis for conversation. Another book I recently read that you'll find really helpful: Perfect Parenting (Dictionary of 1000 Parenting Tips) by Elizabeth Pantley

Growing up at about 13-14 years old, it's too hard to have your parents tell you about the birds and the bees, stuff you want to know, just don't want to hear. This book is awesome. It's a good book to take with you and read in private. It's stuff that makes you think - everything from puberty to sex to condoms. It's every boy's resource that definitely beats the embarassment of talking to Dad or Grandpa. This is one of the few that has illustrations as well which definitely helps with visual comprehension.
